Participants of a nature walk in the Dalaman district of Muğla over the weekend were given the chance to observe the region's natural and historic landmarks.
Dalaman's local administrator's office organized the nature walk to raise awareness of the natural and historic landmarks of the county. Attendees visited Kapıdağ Peninsula and the bays of Sarsala, Yavansu, Kocagol and Goben.
Nature lovers had the chance to observe the stunning beauty of the bays, where the sea and pine forests meet. The trip also included visits to the Cleopatra bathe, the antique church and the ancient city of Lydai.
Six-hour trip
The trip, which started at the blue bays of Dalaman, lasted approximately six hours. The local administrator of Dalaman, Ahmet Deniz said it was spiritually relaxing to visit the bays of Dalaman, where history, nature and sea are one. “Dalaman's bays are the best in the world. Truly, Dalaman is one of the rare spots in the world for nature walks and sports,” he said.
Deniz added there was the right kind of sports for everyone and invited everyone to the walk, as “walking is a sport for all ages.”
The bays of Kapıdağ Peninsula are popular with cruise liners and can also be visited on day boats. Sarsıla, Bunguş, Sıralıbuk, Kurşunlu and Taşkaya (Bedri Rahmi), among other secret bays of the peninsula, host both domestic and foreign cruise ships all summer long. The ancient settlements of Lydai surrounded by forests are adored by the visitors.
