Sarıgerme :
The government has approved plans for the Sarigerme Tourism Project in which 18bn Lira will invested in creating in creating a new marina, several international standard golf courses, hotels and new roads. Much of this construction is already underway. Sarigerme has a superb sandy beach, 12km long, which combined with this investment; it expects eventually make Sarigerme as popular a destination as Marmaris or Fethiye. Sarigerme at present is fairly underdeveloped, but has the potential to become a very successful holiday resort, and already the village has some boutiques, shops, restaurants and bars springing up which is, at present, supported by the fact that there are also already 4 large holiday chain hotels here. Plenty for the historian in the labyrinth of narrow, attractive, cobbled streets dotted with carved stone sarcophagi, while in the cliffs above are temple facades, hewn from the living rock; these are the tombs of the Lycian lived here in the 4th century BC. The town has a lively, busy atmosphere, with plenty to keep most visitors occupied.
